Waterdrop honest Review

by Admin

Hello everyone,

If you’re anything like me, you struggle to drink the right amount of water we drink each day. Drinking 2L of water are a lot, and then drinking tap water…. bleh!

Over here in Italy everyone just buys bottled water, but the eco warrior in me hates that idea, especially when here in Rome in particular, they have water bottling stations (although the one closest to us was closed for a little bit – I wonder if it’s open now) run by Acea who run the water supply here, or they have the amazing water fountains all over Rome, there is one so quite close by, which the water from them are just as good as the water we have to pay for from the supermarket – and I can reuse my bottles or put it in my glass bottles. But if you’re a mom of 2 under 3 and without a car, it’s not always possible to refill my bottles. And even then, still not a big fan of the taste (or lack of) when it comes to water.

Then I came across an advertisement for Waterdrop, these seemingly little individually wrapped in recyclable packaging drops of different flavors with vitamins that you can add to water.

While I was a bit skeptical at first, I was in need of a new water bottle, since my last glass water bottle had shattered over a year ago, and I wasn’t too much of a fan of my aluminum bottle that made everything a bit like drinking out of can, I thought Why not? Let’s give this water drop thing a try. And if it means I can drink water out of the tap without worrying about the taste even better!

As a breastfeeding mother I really should be drinking more than I do, so this would hopefully give me the encouragement to do just that.

So I ordered myself the Empowerment Edition Set which was on special for €37.90 and waited patiently for it to arrive from Northern Europe!

Empowerment Edition Set

It comes in a bottle to match each flavor available, I personally loved the look of RELAX Magenta (as pictured above), so happily ordered that one, and you receive a bottle cover and 4 packets of the 12pk waterdrop flavors in CLEAN, GLOW, FOCUS and DEFENSE

It arrived safely in this thick cardboard box, with the fabric neoprene cover on top!

First came FOCUS – made up of Lime, Baobab and Acerola, I had never heard of the latter two before, but soon found out that Baobab is a tree that grows around Africa and grown for its fruit pulp, which is exactly what is in this particular waterdrop and Acerola is basically a Brazilian Cherry.

It also is sugar free (with added sucralose sweetener) personally if they were going to go sugar free I would of preferred a natural sweetener like Stevia, so there is room for improvement there, but it does have Vitamin C, Thiamine (vitamin B1) and Pantothenic Acid (vitamin B5) which I’m probably lacking in all vitamins, so I’m sure it must help me!

FOCUS while perfectly drinkable was my least favorite of the four that I received. But that’s purely because I’m not a big fan of the flavor of lime.

Next came CLEAN, I was a bit dubious to try something that had herbs as an ingredient for me to think it would taste nice, but I was pleasantly surprised. With delicious juniper berry and stinging nettle extract (stinging nettle has a long history of use as a source for traditional medicine).

Again Sugarfree – as are all of the waterdrops, but this one also contains Vitamin C, Niacin (Vitamin B3) and Vitamin E. No need to get one of those hooky moisturizers to get my Vitamin E now! When all I have to do is have a drink!

Out of the 4 I received CLEAN is number 3 for me. But that’s just because while it was fruity, the herbs flavor did somewhat overpower the taste of the juniper berry extract.

Then came GLOW, I love mango, so was quite excited to try this flavor, it is flavored with Mango, Cactus Fruit (also known as the prickly pear) and Artichoke. I did wonder if the artichoke would overpower the sweet flavor of mango, but my worry was put to rest once I tried this sweet delight of a waterdrop.

GLOW has Vitamin C, Thiamine (Vitamin B1) and Vitamin E, so definitely suits its name GLOW.

This would be my second favorite out of the four.

DEFENSE would actually be my favorite out of the four Waterdrops I received in my Empowerment Edition set. As someone that has been prone to bladder infections because I didn’t drink enough water, this really appealed to me. With Cranberry, Rosehip and Moringa (also known as a superfood) it had just the right pairing of flavors to make this little drop a delicious combination on my palette.

Again with Vitamin C, it also has Riboflavin (Vitamin B2) and Biotin (Water soluble B Vitamin), I actually wonder if this helped me recover quicker from a sore throat I had acquired shortly after it arrived, as I was better in only one day, and I made sure I drank a few of these DEFENSE Waterdrops to help combat my illness at the time.

I also made sure to invest in the bottle scrubber, as I remember when I had my last glass water bottle, I struggled to clean it properly with just my usual scrubbing brush, so I thought this time it was a must have!

Another great thing about Waterdrop is that if you spend a certain amount you also can acquire free items. Unfortunately I did a silly thing, and didn’t click the button to add the free bag to my cart in the process. So I emailed their help desk when I noticed that I didn’t receive the bag (I just thought it automatically would of gone in my cart), and they promptly sent it out to me! I was so grateful! And super impressed with our promptness they were in doing this for me!
